Congratulations to Los Angeles Chapter member Noah Thanos, this week’s Shell Fill-Up Friday winner! Noah’s Instagram shot of his Monaco Blue BMW 330i has won him a $25 Shell fuel card!
Noah’s interest in the club began before he got his first car, spotting grille badges on BMWs in the wild. While he aspired to be a member when he got his first car (a 1991 735i, which he still owns—what a great start!), it wasn’t until he acquired the current 330i in 2016 that he decided to join—and get a grille badge of his own.
Aside from being an interesting one-year-only model (with BMW’s most powerful naturally-aspirated, non-M straight six), this particular 330i has a number of unique touches, including various carbon-fiber accents, M Performance interior trim, M Parallel wheels, and—on the performance front—a Burger Motorsports Powerbox, E90 M3 control arms, and a Magnaflow exhaust.
“My favorite thing about my car is how it manages to be so good at everything!” Noah told us. “For 12 years old, it still looks amazing. and in my opinion, it’s one of the best Bangle BMWs. The technology, like cornering headlights, was ahead of its time, and the handling is amazing.”
Noah has had the Monaco Blue on Dakota Beige E90 for about twenty thousand miles, and tells us it’s running strong. He’s taken advantage of his BMW CCA membership, too.
“The BMW CCA community as a whole is great, but the benefit that I use the most often is my discount at the dealership. I’m in the process of doing a pseudo-restoration on my 7 Series, and the discount has been great!”
