MS&AD Andretti’s António Félix da Costa finished eighth in the Formula E race run on the streets of Zurich, Switzerland on June 10. He started fourteenth on the grid and moved up to eighth over the course of the race. His teammate Stéphane Sarrazin finished fourteenth. The win went to defending series champion Lucas di Grassi, who was driving for Audi Sport Abt Schaefller.
Félix da Costa said, “I qualified fourteenth and then had a really clean race. I hit all my targets, hit all my numbers and we managed to be P8 and score some points again in the end, which is good. It’s been a solid day and I’m looking forward to the last races of the season. It’s been a long year, it’s been tough but the last one is in New York. We are looking forward to going to MS&AD Andretti’s home races and ending on a high note there.”
The Zurich race was historically significant; it was the first closed-course race in Switzerland since the country rescinded the ban on auto racing that it had put in place after the incident that claimed the lives of a driver and 83 spectators at the 1955 24 Hours of Le Mans. Before the Formula E race, the last race run in Switzerland was the 1954 Swiss Grand Prix at Bremgarten.
Season four of Formula E closes with a double header on the streets of Brooklyn, New York on July 14-15.
