Congratulations to this week’s Shell Fill-Up Friday winner, Sandlapper Chapter member Matthew West (IG @westy696), who won a $50 Shell fuel card thanks to this picture of his San Marino Blue M3 filling up at Shell.
“Shell in my opinion is the best top-tier gasoline available. I’ve always run 93 V-Power gasoline in all of my performance cars and never had a single issue,” says Matthew.
When asked how he discovered the club, Matthew said, “My BMW dealership service advisor is a BMW enthusiast and recommended joining the BMW CCA to meet other enthusiasts. After each monthly CCA meeting, there is always a group of us talking about cars in the parking lot until late hours into the night.”
Tell us more about your M3 pictured in the post! “I’ve had two previous BMW’s; a 2011 135i M-Sport with a manual, and a 2016 M235i with an automatic,” says Matthew. “After enjoying the “M-Sport” ownership experience, I felt it was time to get a full M car, but it had to be a manual. Searching for three months nationwide through F80 M3’s and F82 M4’s finally paid off, when this 2016 M3 popped up for sale. It was perfectly optioned with a manual transmission, BMW Individual color San Marino Blue, Silverstone leather, carbon fiber roof, and executive package. I flew from South Carolina to Texas, bought it and drove it home. Later on I found the original owner through Instagram, with a little bit of neat history. He purchased it new with performance center delivery in Spartanburg SC, then drove it to Texas. I purchased it in Texas and drove it back to Spartanburg, which makes me wonder if this M3 was meant to be a South Carolina car all along.”
