Tire Rack BMW CCA Club Racing has announced its 2025 national champions and award winners. National champions are racers who score the most points in their respective classes while running in at least four separate events over the course of the season; in addition to these championships, the series recognizes a Rookie of the Year and presents the Glenn Lucas Award to the racer who best embodies the spirit of BMW CCA Club Racing.
The series ran 14 events in 2025, and National championships were awarded in 10 classes. The winners are listed here in descending order of class size.
Spec E46: Jesse Clark of the South Atlantic Region won the national title in Spec E46—by far the largest class in the series, with 87 competitors running over the course of the year. (Clark’s 330Ci appears in the lead photo). Greg Hartman (330i) of the North Atlantic region and Ben Hostetler (330i) of the South Atlantic Region finished second and third.

C-Modified: Todd Brown of the South Atlantic Region won his fourth consecutive national championship in C-Modified. Most of his races were run in an E46 M3, although in selected races, Brown piloted an E46 B46, an E46 3 Series powered by a B48D four-cylinder turbocharged engine (as he did in 2024). He won the 2025 title by a scant half-point over Robert Chang of the South Atlantic Region, who raced an E46 M3. Twenty-six racers ran in C-Mod in 2025.

PWR3: Sean Dwyer of the North Atlantic Region won the PWR3 championship at the wheel of an E46 M3; he had finished third in 2024. Ron Hougham (E46 M3) and Keith Primozic (E36 M3), both South Atlantic Region racers, finished second and third respectively. Twenty racers scored points in PWR3.

I-Prepared: Matt Noonan won the national title in I-Prepared. Ryan Agnew, last year’s champion, finished second. Both racers are based in the North Atlantic Region, and both campaign E36 M3s. Eighteen racers ran in I-P in 2025.

PWR4: Sri Haputantri of the South Atlantic Region won his second consecutive PWR4 national title in 2025. He raced both an E36 M3 and an E30 M3. The E30 is a car with a long history in the series; it was campaigned in the earliest days of BMW Club Racing by Steve Bassen. Before he switched to PWR4, Haputantri raced in D-Modified, where he won six consecutive championships. Like many former D-Mod racers, he has switched to a power-to-weight class. North Atlantic Region racer Greg Wharton finished second in PWR4 driving an E46 M3. Sixteen racers scored points in PWR4 in 2025.

Spec E36: Bert Howerton of the South Atlantic Region won Spec E36 in a 325is. Second place went to last year’s champion, John Wilkins of the South Atlantic Region, who campaigned a 325i. Fourteen racers ran in Spec E36 in 2025.

Michael Saul captured his second consecutive I-Sport national championship [Brian Morgan photo]
I-Sport: Michael Saul of the South Atlantic Region won his second consecutive national title in I-Sport with an E36 M3. Greg Martin of the North Atlantic Region was second in another E36 M3. While eleven racers ran in I-Sport, only Saul and Martin scored enough points to qualify for the championship.

The national championship in B-Modified went to Warren Wulff [Susan Dobson photo]
B-Modified: Warren Wulff of the North Atlantic Region won the national championship in B-Modified in an E92 M3. Eleven racers ran in B-Modified in 2025, but Wulff was the only one to run enough races to qualify for a title.

PWR2: Mirril McMullen of the North Atlantic Region, who serves as the chairman of BMW CCA Club Racing, won the PWR2 title in an E36 323is. North Atlantic Region racer Marc Thomaes, a BMW CCA Club Racing veteran. finished second in an E30 M3. Ten racers ran in PWR2 in 2025.

M2 Spec: Frank McCleneghen of the North Atlantic Region won his second consecutive title in M2 Spec, the all-F87 M2CSR class. Michael Kerner of the South Atlantic Region finished second. Eight racers ran in M2 Spec in 2025.
In addition to those national championships, BMW CCA Club Racing recognizes two racers with awards, one for Rookie of the Year and another, the Glenn Lucas Award, for the driver who best exemplifies the Spirit of Club Racing.

Isi Papadopoulus won the 2025 Glenn Lucas Memorial Award [Isi Papadopoulus photo]
Glenn Lucas Award: The 2025 Glenn Lucas Memorial Award, presented to the driver who best represents the Spirit of Club Racing both on and off the track, went to Canadian racer
Isi Papadopoulos, who developed and implemented an effective driver-proficiency program for the series. BMW CCA Club Racing chairman Mirril McMullen notes. “The driver-proficiency program is focused on continuing racer development past the club racing school, and for those who come to us from other race organizations. Isi has done a great job working out the details of how the proficiency program works, who delivers the program, and he led the effort end to end.”
