Congratulations to this week’s Shell Fill-Up Friday winner, Rocky Mountain Chapter member Vic Kolev (IG @tehestorilblaum345), who won a $50 Shell fuel card thanks to this picture of his E36 M3.
“I’ve always dreamed of owning an Estoril Blue M3/4/5, but was having a hard time finding one, as they have all shot up in price,” says Vic. “It was a blessing from above that I would pull up next to this one at a red light, strike up a conversation with the owner, and make a deal at a parking lot 500 feet down the road.”
When asked how he discovered the BMW CCA, Vic says, “I think I originally found the CCA through the Bavarian Auto publication and Bimmerforums, almost 15 years ago. I started my membership with the BMW CCA in the mid-2000s. Back then I had a slick-top supercharged ’95 M3. I am a devout and loyal BMW fan and have been for a while; I’ve owned thirteen BMWs in the last nineteen years, everything from E30 and E36s to an E39, an E46, and E90s.”
So, tell us more about your M3! “The car was a two-owner, 112k-mile example that was driven daily about five miles on a round-trip commute. It came with Bilstein struts on H&R springs,” says Vic. “H&R front sway bars, E36 convertible cross brace, UUC short-shifter, and custom audio throughout. Since I purchased it, I have installed a full DINAN package, which has CAI, free-flow exhaust, bored throttle body, and Stage 3 software. I also installed 18-inch Forgestar F14 wheels. I was nervous about going that large, but I think they look great! I love the timeless look of the E36, especially being a modern classic family car now. You just can’t beat that!”
