Congratulations to this week’s BMW CCA Garage Goals winner, Florida Suncoast Chapter member Bruce Baker! Bruce has won a $25 Shop BMW CCA gift card and a $25 Griot’s Garage Gift Card thanks to this picture of his 1959 BMW 600, R1200C, and X1 xDrive28i!
“With the coronavirus keeping us at home I decided it was time to address the garage floor,” said Bruce. “I chose to go with non-slip quarry tile. It was a lot of work, but should be the last time this job will have to be done.”
Asked what got him to join the BMW CCA, Bruce said, “The first time I joined the club was back in the late 70’s, while working as a technician at a BMW dealership. While there I purchased my first BMW, a 1972 2002 that had a blown motor. I joined the club as it has great technical articles and sources for 2002 parts.”
Tell us more about your fleet of BMWs! “In ’95 I purchased my ’59 600 and began the restoration. It has been back on the road since 2000, accumulating over 10,000 miles. The ’98 R1200C was purchased three years ago after being without a bike for twenty-plus years. It is well suited for the boring, flat roads of southern Florida. The 2020 X1 sDrive28i just completed a 2,900-mile trip to the Northeast at 34 miles-per-gallon.”
