Congratulations to San Diego Chapter member Chris Ross, our latest Shell Fill-Up Friday winner! Chris’ post featuring his 135i filling up at Shell in the gleaming California sun has won him a $25 Shell gift card!
“This is my dream car,” says Chris. “I started with an E46 330ci, and I loved the coupe and the handling of that car, but I wanted something with more power out of the box. So the 135i was the perfect car for me. Plus, not a lot of people have them, so I get a lot of positive reactions because people don’t see them that often, especially set up correctly. This is my daily car that also sees a lot of autocross events and track time. It has 146,000 miles and is still going strong. I just recently upgraded the suspension to coil-overs and a bigger squared setup for tires. I cannot wait to go drive it!”
Asked how he originally discovered the BMW CCA, he says, “My friend in high school did some autocross events with his dad and told me to come out one day for some ride-alongs. I rode in a modified 135i, and I was instantly hooked on high-performance driving and the 135i platform!”
Being a member for two years now, what has been your favorite part? “Definitely meeting like-minded people, with regard to driving, and overall the very, very nice people in the San Diego chapter,” says Chris.
