Congratulations to Tarheel Chapter member Rooz Rafie for his winning submission for last week’s Fill-Up Friday challenge! With his Instagram submission being selected on March 9, he will be receiving a $25 Shell gas card! His submission—one of his many!—of his Tanzanite Blue F80 M3 Competition Package was selected from more than 200 posts to the #bmwccashell tag.
This M3 follows ten other BMWs he’s owned, including an E39 M5, which he was driving six years ago when it was T-boned by a truck at speed. Rooz misses that car, but 
appreciates that “the car gave its life to save mine.” As dramatically as that car left him, this one entered his life in such a way that he felt compelled to create two YouTube videos about it: Chapter One and Chapter Two! Rooz bought the car new through Hendrick BMW, but went with the European Delivery program. If you watch the videos, be sure to have a couple weeks carved out on the calendar for your own European Delivery—after watching, you’ll be compelled to immediately schedule it!
Even while taking delivery of his 2016 M3 in Germany, Rafie was already plotting mods to the car once he got it back in the states. As you can see in the pictures, this is not stock, but many of the mods on this official Dinan P2 M3 Competition Package are subtle and hidden under the hood. Some of them include Dinan Stage 3 software, Dinan carbon intakes, a Dinan heat exchanger, Dinan 
exhaust, Dinan strut-bar joints, rear suspension links, and sway bars, and even Dinan pedals, KW V3 coil-overs, Brixton forged wheels, a carbon-fiber spoiler and rear diffuser, and much more!
If you’ve ever thought about referring new members to the club, you’ll have plenty of opportunities: there are many passionate BMW fans who are not yet members of the BMW CCA. Up until earlier this year, Rooz was one of those folks. “I’ve been meaning to do it for a while, and I wish I had done it before I got the M3, but I’m glad I’ve joined now!” Rooz acknowledged. “The club pays for itself. We will probably soon be looking at replacing the wife’s X4, and since we want to use the rebate, it just made sense to do it now before that time.”
Even in his short time in the club, Rafie says he has “always enjoyed the car culture and really appreciate the ‘brotherhood’ the BMW CCA has
created about a brand so many people are passionate about!” And it’s not just Rafie’s BMW family that has expanded: he and his wife welcomed their baby son into the world February 22 of this year! They’ve already outfitted his room with decorations befitting a future BMW fan.
Shell and the BMW CCA have given out more than $300 in Shell gas cards so far this year. Every Friday, Shell and the BMW CCA will be awarding a BMW CCA member at least $25 in Shell fuel cards.
