BMW CCA Regional Vice President Simone Harrison writes about the recent Bimmer Invasion of Orlando, Floria, which took place on Saturday, February 17th, 2024.

Bimmer Invasion roared back into Orlando, Florida, on a rain-kissed Saturday in mid-February. Despite the unexpected downpour in the Sunshine State, the weather couldn’t dampen the spirits of over 5,000 enthusiasts and their 1,500 BMWs, all converging at the automotive haven of Dezerland Park.

What exactly is Bimmer Invasion? It’s not just an event; it’s a celebration that unites BMW enthusiasts in a shared passion. It includes a judged car show, an array of awards, 50-plus sponsor booths, and a VIP indoor display. The atmosphere was popping with the energy of the tuner and aftermarket crowd all gathered to proudly showcase their BMWs.

Adding prestige to the event, the BMW CCA M Chapter proudly sponsored Bimmer Invasion, along with the Florida SunCoast Chapter. Together, they curated a captivating BMW CCA display area, joined by the X Chapter and the Everglades Chapter. A dedicated team of twenty-plus club volunteers showcased their cars, and this year, BMW North America joined in with a stunning display of their latest M and X models. Notable among them were the M3 CS in Signal Green, the M4 Comp in Frozen Purple, the M4 Comp CV in Fire Orange, the X6M Comp in Velvet Blue, and the XM Label in Anglesey Green.

Reflecting on the event, Jay L. Hanson, BMW NA Product and Technology Spokesperson, commented, “The fan participation was fantastic despite the weather, and the variety of vehicles on display, along with the enthusiastic participation of vendors and clubs, was truly impressive.”

The highlight of the awards ceremony saw Brian Kinports, a Florida SunCoast member, claiming the prestigious title of “Best Classic BMW” for his sleek black 2002. And, Rusty Johnson, a proud member of the M and Sandlapper Chapter, earned the coveted “Best Paint Award” for his awe-inspiring Uber M3.

Bimmer Invasion 2024 left an indelible mark on Orlando, proving that not even rain could wash away the community and passion shared by BMW enthusiasts. It was evident that the spirit of Bimmer Invasion continues to accelerate, promising an even more thrilling experience at the event later this year in Los Angeles. —Simone Harrison
