“Like everyone, we have been spending more time at home due to COVID-19, but have still managed to take the M2 and M3 out on fun drives exploring the beautiful backgrounds of Northern California,” said Mahoney.
When asked what got him to join the BMW CCA, Mahoney said, “I discovered the club after purchasing my first BMW—a 2013 328i sedan. I really enjoyed the car and wanted to connect with others who shared the same passion, so I did a quick Google search and found the BMW CCA. Not being a traditional car enthusiast, I was a little anxious about having anything to do with a car club at first, but when I attended my first BMW CCA event, a cars and coffee, and met the friendly and welcoming hosts (who were both women) as well as some of the other regulars there, I knew I had found a diverse community that not only shared my passion for cars and BMW, but some of the same values too. After signing up, it has been one incredible adventure after the next in the years since and many of our closest friends are now club members too. It is true that the BMW CCA is way more than just a car club!”
Tell us more about your BMWs! “Cory McLaren and I purchased the 2018 M2 “Smurf” in Long Beach Blue and 2018 M3 competition package “Clifford” in Imola Red that are pictured from Weatherford BMW in Berkeley, CA on the same night. We joke that the cars are brothers because they were actually parked next to each other on the lot for some time, long before we were on the market. We love them both and they demonstrate the versatility of modern M cars and have reliably served as our daily drivers, been taken on road trips to faraway places, and to just about every high-performance driving event the BMW CCA offers. This is truly our dream garage!”
