Congratulations to Boston Chapter member Doug Ingram, our latest Shell Fill-Up Friday winner! Doug has won a $25 Shell fuel card thanks to his submission of his Euro-market E21 filling up with Shell V-Power NiTRO+.
We’re told that this car, a 1980 BMW 323i that originally came fitted with the hottest E21 powerplant available, was found by Doug when it was in need of some internal work. ” bought it because I was building a 2.8L M20 and didn’t have a car to put it in. Luckily, this car was on Bimmerforums and advertised as needing an engine rebuild.” Like any classic BMW, there’s always something to touch up. “My favorite thing is that no part of it is perfect. I enjoy improving it a little at a time.”
This neat Euro-market BMW wasn’t Doug’s first foray into BMW ownership by a long shot—or participating in the BMW community. “I started working at HMS Motorsport in 1997 and became active in CCA and other events” he told us, and even today he enjoys “sharing my enthusiasm and automotive passion with fellow enthusiasts. And expanding my BMW, and automotive, knowledge.”
