The M4 GT4 was named Race Car of the Year by a panel of 20 motorsport and technology journalists at the Professional Motorsport World Expo Awards in Cologne, Germany.

BMW Motorsport’s newest customer car, which made its debut in the 24-hout Dubai race in January, has gone on to win a number of races around the world. BMW notes that the season highlights for the car have included a win in the SP10 class in the Nürburgring 24 Hour race and GT4 titles in the Blancpain GT Series Asia and the British GT Championship. In the US, James Clay and Tyler Cooke scored the first North American win for the car with the #82 BimmerWorld M4 GT4 in the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge season finale at Road Atlanta in October.

A BMW team received an additional award at the Expo; West Surrey Racing, the team that won the British Touring Car Championship manufacturer and team titles with the 125i M Sport as well as the drivers’ championship with Colin Turkington, was named European Race Series Team of the Year.
