The Random Vandals Racing team has announced that they will compete in the full Michelin Pilot Challenge series with the #92 car driven by Paul Sparta and Kenton Koch. Random Vandals competed in select Michelin Pilot Challenge races in 2023 as well as a full season in SRO GT4 America, where Koch finished third in the driver’s championship with Kevin Boehm.
Random Vandals Racing will also team up with Team ACP – Tangerine for select Michelin Pilot Challenge and VP Racing SportsCar Challenge races running under the Team ACP by Random Vandals name. Team ACP – Tangerine CEO Catesby Jones will be driving the #94 M4 GT4 in the Daytona opener along with Ken Goldberg and Terry Borcheller, while Nathan Martin will drive the #9 M4 GT4 for Team ACP by Random Vandals in the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge races. Team ACP – Tangerine has a long history of racing BMWs, most recently in select 24H Series races as well as the World Racing League.
Random Vandals Racing Team Principal and driver Paul Sparta is excited for 2024. “2024 marks a major expansion for Random Vandals and a huge raccoon family welcome to Team ACP,” he said. “In 2023, we invested across the organization to create a cohesive team with top driving, engineering, and technical talent. We proved we can run consistently at the top of the field in multiple series. This year, we intend to compete for a championship and multiple race wins. We couldn’t do it without the tremendous partnership of BMW Motorsport. The farther we go, the harder it gets, but this team loves the challenge and the process.”
The VP Racing SportsCar Challenge races will take place on January 20th and 21st, with the four-hour Michelin Pilot Challenge season opener taking place at Daytona on January 26th. There’s no word yet if Random Vandals will also compete in the SRO GT4 America series with BMW, but we suspect that they will. —David Haueter
