Here’s an opportunity to meet arguably the most influential, always quotable, often outrageous automotive executive of our time, the jet and helicopter flying, race car driving, team builder who’s held top management positions at BMW, Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors—Bob Lutz. “Maximum Bob” to his friends!
Join us at the Yankee Air Museum to see some of the amazing vehicles he’s crafted and influenced during his legendary career–BMW cars and motorcycles, the Dodge Viper, the Corvette C8, the Cadillac V-Series, the Ford Explorer, and the first ever U.S. hybrid, Chevrolet Volt, and more. Hear what he has to say at a young 91 years of age, about cars, the industry and his unique role in it. This is the guy who once rolled an Opel—on purpose!—to show his engineers that the car would really roll—the guy who created the long running, and still running, BMW theme, “The Ultimate Driving Machine.” See a chronological display of vehicles influenced by Bob in his career and marvel at his current hobby—building models of iconic World War II fighter aircraft and 1950 era race cars entirely out of paper!
This former Marine never stops. Join us to celebrate Bob’s incredible legacy and the man himself. It promises to be a memorable day for an incomparable automotive leader, and a great day for all who are able to attend.
Registration is by donation, minimum $50/person, and must be made on-line at MOTOR CITY VIPER OWNERS. Registrations are limited to the first 200 collector vehicles and 400 guests, due to Bob’s desire to actually be able to meet all guests. Due to the size of the event, it is impossible for Mr. Lutz to sign autographs. Thank you for your understanding. Confirmed registrants will be emailed detailed directions and local hotel information.
