The second Tire Rack BMW CCA Club Racing weekend of the 2026 season took place at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia from May 1st-3rd, with three sprint races and a feature race. It was the first of three race weekends at the track this year, as the series will return there on July 11th-12th and September 11th-12th. Hosted by the National Capital Chapter, the Summit Point weekend brought in 34 entries spread among eight different classes.
The popular SpecE46 class had the most entries with 11, followed by PWR3 with seven. Unlike the opening rounds at VIR, which saw split fields for SpecE46 and everyone else due to the large number of SpecE46 entries there (38), the smaller field at Summit Point allowed everyone to race together, though SpecE46 did have split starts from the rest of the field. The club racing weekend also shared the track with a National Capital Chapter HPDE (High Performance Driver Education) event.

Todd Brown won three of four races overall in his E46 M3 with a four-cylinder motor.
The Rooster Hall Racing father-son duo of Todd and Sean Brown (shown in the top photo) set the tone for the weekend with overall results. In the first three races, Todd and Sean finished one-two overall, with Todd driving a C-Mod E46 M3 with a highly modified B48 four-cylinder under the hood, and Sean in an F87 M2 CS Racing in the B-Mod class. Todd relinquished the lead overall to Sean in race won, but only briefly. “I put sticker tires on for the first race, and he (Todd) didn’t have sticker tires,” said Sean. “They were really good for around five laps.”
There were three different classes represented in the top five overall in the first two races, with the Brown’s followed by Brian Cincera (B-Mod), Job Nieman (PWR3) and Matthew Noonan (IP) in race one, and Cincera, Nieman and Sripathi Haputantri (PWR4) rounding out the top five in race two. Class winners included the Brown’s in C-Mod and B-Mod, Samuel Stuard in SpecE46, Job Nieman in PWR3, Haputantri in PWR4, Matthew Noonan in IP, Michal Saul in IS and Marc Thomaes in PWR2.

Job Nieman won all four PWR3 class races.
The feature race took place on Saturday afternoon but was truncated by a caution that took place about halfway through the race, which ended under caution. The results were the same as races one and two with just a couple of exceptions. Matthew Stover won the SpecE46 class, with Samuel Stuard (who won the first two) finishing second. Ian Kimbrough won in the PWR2 class, and William Bass won in IS ahead of Michael Saul.
The final race on Sunday also unfortunately ended after just a few laps, when leader Todd Brown went into the tire wall in his E46 M3. “The car lost power twice during the race but then came quickly back to life,” said Brown. “Shortly after reporting it to my crew chief, the engine let go and unfortunately oiled the track and sent me spinning. I slightly tagged the wall, but the oil got on the turbo and caused a fire. I was able to extinguish it and exit the car with only my pride injured.” Brown’s retirement gave the C-Mod win to Brandt Stover and the overall win to Sean Brown. All other class winners were the same as the feature race except for SpecE46, where Samuel Stuard took the final race win to make it three out of four over the weekend.

Samuel Stuard (#16) won three of four races in SpecE46. Adam Butler (green and black car) had class podiums in call four races.
Aside from the two races ending early, it was a great weekend of racing at Summit Point, with beautiful cool weather and a great variety of cars. Newcomer Adam Butler had just completed the Club Racing School at VIR in March and was in his first races at Summit Point with a new (to him) SpecE46 car. He had a very productive weekend, finishing on the class podium in every race. “This is my first race in the club and my first race with this car,” he said. “It’s been a blast, and there’s always somebody to race with in SpecE46. I’m still learning the track and I’ve been trying to be more consistent. Everybody is super cool, which is why I got into this.”
The Spirit of Club Racing Award for the weekend went to Sripathi Haputantri and the crew at SRI Racing. “Sri and his crew have been an asset to BMW CCA Club Racing at every event they attend,” said Wayne Dobson. “If anybody needs a part or help fixing a car at the track Sri and his crew are one of the first places racers go and at Summit Point, several racers were appreciative of their help to get them back racing. BMW Club Racing is founded on the belief that the fun of friendly competition is more important than the results, and that mutual assistance among racers enhances the experience for everyone. At Summit Point this weekend Sri and his crew enhanced the experience both on and off the track for everyone.”

The next race weekend on the Club Racing schedule is at Watkins Glen International from May 15th-17th, hosted by the Genessee Valley Chapter.
