Mirril McMullen will assume the duties of BMW CCA Club Racing Chairman in August 2025.

The Tire Rack BMW CCA Club Racing series announced in April that Mirril McMullen will become chairman of the series in August 2025, succeeding Scott Reiman, who has led club racing since 2021. In an announcement on the Club Racing Facebook page, Reiman stated, “I will be stepping down from my role at the end of July (I will be taking a smaller CR job and plan to remain on the leadership team). I am thrilled to announce that Mirril McMullen now takes the role as chairman-elect and will assume the role of BMW Club Racing chairman on August 1, 2025.

“I have been honored to serve the program for all of you and appreciate the 100% support I have received. I have been going to the track with Mirril since forever—he has all the experience needed, both as a racer and leader, to deliver the guidance the program needs and deserves.”

We asked McMullen for initial comments on his new role and information on himself. “It is an honor to step in as the BMW CCA Club Racing Chairman,” he says. “My role with the BMW CCA started with driving schools in the 1990s. This developed into instructing after taking instructor training with New Jersey in 2005. The pleasure of instructing with Patroon, New Jersey, GVC, DelVal, and other chapters is over-the-top rewarding; it is still a boundless joy going to a new track with a new chapter and turning strangers into new track friends.

“My other roles have included running tech inspection for the New Jersey Chapter for four years after both Vic Lucariello Sr. and Warren Brown preceded me as tech leads. I went to a racing school tutored by Scott and Fran Hughes at New Hampshire in 2010; three years later my car passed tech, and I ran my first race.

“Racing for thirteen years with BMW CCA has always been exciting; it never disappoints. Our club racers are hard-working men and women who will loan parts and work side by side with anyone who needs a helping hand. BMW CCA Club Racing is a family.

“The past four years have included assisting BMW CCA Club Racing running the Time Trials program and assisting Bruce Smith with the tech-steward team; traveling with the tech stewards allows me to work with many great people in chapters across the USA and Canada. It is exciting to meet and work with new chapters and racers’ extended families, and to go to new race tracks that we never had a chance to visit before.

“Working with Scott Reiman and the current Club Racing leadership team has taught me a great deal about what is needed to run a successful and exciting race program. Our goals for 2025 and 2026 are to continue to grow the program, with important metrics that show increased participation with improved experiences through minimizing incidents. However, while we focus on improving the quality of the experience, we also need to nurture new racers to join our ranks. These tasks will be achieved through investments in external marketing and continuing to promote the clever work that Wayne Dobson does delivering the BimmerWorld Club Racing School program. This also includes building stronger relationships with the chapters and their high-performance driving-school programs.

“My wife. Barrie. and I will attend ten or more races this year, either racing in PWR2 or working with the tech stewards to officiate. Barrie and I have three daughters and split our free time between western New Jersey and Watkins Glen.”
