We all know that the M4 GT3 race car will be competing in North America next year, but BMW Motorsport will also be busy working on the new M4 GT4, which is set to debut during the 2023 season. BMW shared a design render of the new car recently, which promises to incorporate much of what BMW Motorsport has learned in developing and building the M4 GT3.
The new G82 M4 GT4 will replace the current F82 M4 GT4 that has been raced very successfully around the world since 2018, including here in North America in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge and SRO GT4 America series. The new car has already been tested by works driver Jens Klingmann and will undergo an extensive test program throughout 2022.
The new M4 GT4 is set to be revealed during mid-2022 and we can expect it to undergo development under race conditions just as the M4 GT3 did, with a likely first race coming at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. “It’s a great car and looks really nice,” said BMW Motorsport head Mike Krack in a Sportscar365 interview. “SRO does the homologation so it’s super important that we do these [cars, including the M4 GT3] together with them. We are busy.”
