DTM Lausitzring

The best BMW finishers at the Lausitzring on the second weekend of the 2021 DTM season were Marco Wittmann in the #11 Walkenhorst M6 GT3 in race one and Sheldon van der Linde in the #31 ROWE M6 GT3 in race two.

In race one, van der Linde started from the pole and led much of the race, finishing third on the track. But a pit stop infraction dropped him to ninth in the final standings. Wittmann finished seventh in the race won by Philip Ellis in a Mercedes-AMG GT3.

In race two, van der Linde started seventh and finished fifth while Wittmann finished sixth. The win went to Mercedes-AMG GT3 racer Maximilian Götz, who became the fourth winner in the first four races of the season.

Ben Green in the #10 M4 GT4 scored a pair of second place finishes in the DTM Trophy Series. Nico Verdonck won the first race in a Toyota Supra and William Tregurtha in a Mercedes-AMG GT4 won race two. M4 GT4 racer Wolfgang Schrey rounded out the race two podium.

The M2 Cup series made its debut at the Lausitzring with seventeen M2 CS Rs in the field. Tim Heinemann in the #78 M2 CS Racing won both races.
