Walkenhorst Motorsports will enter a two-car M6 GT3 team in the new GT3-based DTM series. Walkenhorst is the first BMW team to announce that it will participate in DTM in 2021.
The 2020 DTM series was the last for the Class One cars; BMW contested the series with the M4 DTM.
While BMW Motorsport is not involved in the GT3 series this season, it is running a new M2 Cup Series for the M2 CS Racing that will host twelve races over the course of six DTM events this season.
The 2021 DTM season begins on June 18–20 at Monza.—Brian Morgan
