BMW and Team BMW/West Surrey Racing emerged from the British Touring Car Championship finale at Brands Hatch as winners of the series’ manufacturers’ and team championships. Colin Turkington, who races a 330i M Sport for the team, went into the finale with a slim points lead, but finished second in drivers’ points to Infiniti’s Ash Sutton.

Turkington, the defending drivers’ champion in the series, had a difficult weekend at Brands Hatch, finishing ninth in race one, fourth in race two, and ninth in race three. He had finished third in race two, but was demoted to fourth post-race for passing under yellow. His WSR team mate Tom Oliphant also struggled at Brands Hatch, finishing tenth in race one, fifteenth in race two, and thirteenth in race three.
