BMW Motorsport has assigned its six DTM drivers to its two DTM teams for the 2020 season. Returning drivers will run for the same teams that they ran with in 2019, and each team will get one of the two new drivers.

Marco Wittmann and Timo Glock will return to Stefan Reinhold’s Team RMG, where they will be joined by first-year driver Lucas Auer, while Philipp Eng and Sheldon van der Linde will return to Bart Mampaey’s Team RBM, along with first-year driver Jonathan Aberdein.

BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt said, “When allocating our drivers to the two teams, it was important to find the right combination of continuity, change, competition, and teamwork. The cooperation between our four established drivers and their teams worked well last year. Each team now receives one of our two newcomers. That gives us the desired effect. What matters here is the output—in other words, that we form a strong team with the drivers, BMW Team RMG and BMW Team RBM, and our engineers. All things considered, this team will work together more closely than in previous years. That will be one of the key factors in any sporting success this season.”

Robert Kubica will drive a seventh M4 DTM entered by privateer team ART Grand Prix.
