Philipp Eng, Alexander Sims, and Jesse Krohn in the #99 Rowe Racing M6 GT3 finished eighth and their teammates Tom Blomqvist, Nick Catsburg, and Jens Klingmann finished ninth in the final round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup in Barcelona.

Maro Engel, Luca Stolz and Yelmer Buurman in the Black Falcon AMG Mercedes crossed the finish line first in the three-hour race, and appeared to have won the endurance series championship. But they were later disqualified, giving the win to Raffaele Marciello, Tristan Vautier and Daniel Juncadella in a Team Akka ASP Mercedes AMG. Marciello was also recognized as winner of the championship. The disqualification came because the Black Falcon car was found to have tape on the intake tract in violation of the series rules. The Black Falcon team is appealing, noting that it always runs the tape on the AMG Mercedes, and that the tape provides no performance advantage. As such, the standings are provisional pending the results of the appeal.

Before the penalty was given Eng was classified fourth in drivers’ points and Blomqvist was classified sixth. They may move up if the Black Falcon appeal is denied.
