Jakub “Kuba” Przygonski and Tom Colsoul, in an X-raid MINI John Cooper Works Rally, won the five-day Qatar Cross Country Rally. As a result, Przygonski regained the lead of the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup. The duo took two stage wins, two seconds, and a third place to achieve the top podium position.

“We are so happy to have won this rally. It is one of the toughest races in the World Cup season,” Pryzgonski said afterward. “It was a great race for us—we were really pushing from the beginning. We did not have any big issues with navigation or the MINI John Cooper Works Rally. I do feel for some of the other competitors who received penalties… but this is motorsport, where anything can happen!

“Now we are leading the World Cup. After four races, it is a good sign for us; it shows we can fight for the win in the World Cup, which is something we will definitely try to manage.”

The next event in the series’ eleven-rally schedule is the Rally Kazakhstan on May 27–June 2.—Brian Morgan
