Augusto Farfus, Markus Palttala, Christian Krognes, and Fabian Schiller drove the #102 Shell Helix BMW M6 GT3 and finished thirteenth overall in the Nürburgring 24-hour race. They were the best BMW finishers in a race in which both Rowe Racing M6 GT3s fell by the wayside.
The #98 Rowe M6 driven by Nick Catsburg, John Edwards, Richard Westbrook, and Tom Blomqvist led at several points early in the race, but it dropped back in the field after it was given a time penalty. Ultimately, problems with the drive-by-wire system led the team to retire the car. The #99 Rowe M6 driven by Connor De Phillippi, Alexander Sims, Jesse Krohn, and Martin Tomczyk retired after radiator damage due to a minor collision led to unrepairable engine problems.
Rain came eleven hours into the race. Bad weather plagued the event for the rest of the way; the event was red-flagged for two hours on Sunday due to foggy conditions. When the race resumed with about 90 minutes remaining, Frederic Makowiecki, in the #912 Manthey Racing Porsche that he shared with Nick Tandy, Patrick Pilet, and Richard Lietz, battled for the lead in the rain with Adam Christodoulou, who drove the #4 Black Falcon Mercedes that he shared with Maro Engel, Manuel Metzger, and Dirk Müller. Makowiecki drove the Porsche to the overall win.
Heiko Eichenberg, Yannick Mettler, Torsten Kratz, and Tristan Viidas won the M2335i Racing Cup class in the #256 Securtal Sorg Rennsport car.
