The BMW Italia Ceccato Racing Team will return to the Italian GT championship in 2024 to defend the title they won in 2023. Last year, works drivers Jens Klingmann and Bruno Spengler won the Pro class Sprint Cup championship on the strength of five podiums in eight races, including two wins. Klingmann will be back with the team this year but will be paired with works driver Max Hesse in the teams #7 M4 GT3.
The team is led by BMW racing legend Roberto Ravaglia, and Klingmann is looking forward to competing in the championship again. “I am very happy to be back in Italy for the third consecutive year to participate in the 2024 GT Sprint Championship,” he said. “Last year we witnessed a hard-fought and incredible championship and we managed to bring home the victory. This year there only one objective: Mission Title Defense.”
Max Hesse was part of the BMW Junior Team program over the last few years and is now a full-fledged works driver. “I am really happy to participate in the Italian GT Championship, and I thank the Ceccato Racing team and BMW Italia for the opportunity,” he said. “The circuits are really very beautiful. Obviously, we have a lot of work ahead of us. Jens took the title last year and I hope I can help him do it again. I will do my best to help the team achieve its goals.”
BMW Italia Ceccato Racing will also have two drivers competing in the Italian GT Sprint Cup Championship, with Pedro Carvahlo Ebrahim and Federico Malvestiti sharing the #8 M4 GT3. The Italian GT Sprint Cup Championship opens at the Misano circuit on May 3rd-5th. —David Haueter
