After two seasons of competing in the DTM championship, the Walkenhorst Motorsport team will switch to the ADAC GT Masters series in 2023. Walkenhorst competed in the DTM in 2021 with an M6 GT3 and in 2022 with a pair of M4 GT3s for works driver Marco Wittmann as well as Esteban Muth. 2023 will be the team’s first year in the series, which they will presumably contest with the M4 GT3. “The whole team is looking forward to the challenge as a newbie in the series and to the cooperation with the ADAC,” said team manager Niclas Koenigbauer. The ADAC GT Masters competes primarily in Germany, but also has races in Austria and Holland.

Walkenhorst also announced that they will be returning to the Asian Le Mans Series in 2023, as well as the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). The Asian Le Mans Series consists of only four races, with two each at Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The team will run three M4 GT3s in the NLS, where they had the most success in 2023. “We’re looking forward to fight again for victories on the Nordschleife next year and to build on our track record from this year,” said Koenigbauer. “Our package is strong, just like the NLS, and we’re looking forward to being part of it as a whole team. For many years we have appreciated the atmosphere, the great fans and the incredible racetrack.”
