Congratulations to this week’s Shell Fill-Up Friday winner, Genesee Valley Chapter member Rich Rea, who won a $50 Shell gift card thanks to this picture of his 430i xDrive filling up at Shell on the way to O’Fest!
“I have been a member of the club for 42 years, so I am committed to the brand,” said Rich. “My first BMW experience was a 15-minute ride hitch hiking in college. I had been into British roadsters and this ride changed all that. I, of course, insulted my ride, by asking if it was British Motor Works. A couple of years later, at my first full-time job, a coworker owned a 1600, and he let me take it to lunch. A week later, I owned a used 1970 2002 from Auto Sport by Jiri, one of the original 10 BMW dealers.”
Asked how he discovered the BMW CCA, he said, “I joined the BMW CCA as soon as I first heard of it. My first O’fest was Boston in 1979. I have loved every minute of my BMW’s ever since. My last seventeen years of work, prior to retirement, was as a client advisor for Gault Auto Sport BMW.”
