In addition to the regional championships for racing series sanctioned by the SRO (Stephane Ratel Organization), there is also a worldwide championship that counts all the points scored in each of the seven different regional series. With the racing season half finished, BMW M Motorsport is in a strong position to defend their GT4 Manufacturer Title with the highly successful M4 GT4 EVO that’s campaigned by privateer teams around the world.

CHAZEL Technologie Course won the Am class in both European GT4 races at Misano.

Most recently, the GT4 European Series races at Misano in Italy yielded a bevy of podiums for BMW entries. Among the various classes, BMW teams had nine podium finishes at Misano, including wins in the Am class in both races for CHAZEL Technologie Course and podium finishes for Schubert Motorsport in both races – one in the Pro-Am class and one in Am. The Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport team also finished third overall and in the Silver class in race one and second in race two.

Borusan Otomotiv Motorsport finished on the Silver class podium in both European GT4 races at Misano.

BMW teams have also been very successful in the GT4 America series, with BMW teams leading the championship in all three classes. Random Vandals Racing drivers Kevin Boehm and Kenton Koch are coming off two wins at VIR and lead the Silver class standings, and Random Vandals drivers Josh Green and Sam Craven lead the Pro-Am points, with BimmerWorld Racing drivers Tyler McQuarrie and James Walker, Jr. in second place. BimmerWorld Racing drivers James Clay and Charlie Postins (shown in top photo) also lead the Am class.

Random Vandals Racing is leading the Silver and Pro-Am class championships in GT4 America.

With 30 of 53 worldwide SRO GT4-spec races complete, BMW has a 405-point advantage over other manufacturers. The battle over second place in the standings is much closer, with Porsche, Mercedes-AMG and Aston Martin all within 116 points of each other, and McLaren just 46 points behind Aston Martin.

There are nine GT4 race events over the next six weeks and with the success the M4 GT4 EVO entries have had this year, it seems very likely that BMW will defend the worldwide GT4 Manufacturer title they won in 2024. The GT4 America series still has races at Road America, Barber Motorsports Park and Indianapolis, and the final SRO GT4 race of the year worldwide will be at the Macau street circuit in mid-November.
