The problem with collecting cars is that they need garage space. You not only need room for the car itself, but additional room to open the car doors and be able walk around it. If you want to work on it, well that requires even more space.

Eddy Funahashi a BMW enthusiast and current BMW CCA President, purchased another BMW to add to his collection, a 1973 2002tii “Roundie”. The only problem was his garage was already full. There was no room. finding space meant one of his cars had to go outside and endure the wrath of mother nature. Not the best environment for a collector grade car. The better alternative is to sell one of his cars to another enthusiast who has the garage space. After careful selection Eddy chose his 2004 E46 M3 to sell and then listed and sold it on Collector Chassis.

Upgraded suspension and wheels improved the stance.

Eddy’s M3 is a factory original Alpine White example with Shadowline trim, Xenon headlights, fog lights, a power glass sunroof, rain-sensing windshield wipers, body-color front corner reflectors, LED tail lights, rear proximity sensors and dual quad exhausts. He added VMR V803 Hypersilver CSL replica wheels with staggered setup of 19” x 8.5” front and 19” x 9.5” rear wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Eddy upgraded the suspension with new Koni shocks and Eibach springs which also lowered the stance of the car.

The interior is upholstered in Black Nappa Leather with heated power-adjustable front sport seats, Navigation, a Harman Kardon sound system with the in-dash CD player and CD trunk changer, automatic climate control and cruise control.

The M3 333hp 3.2L inline-six

It is powered by the factory 3.2L inline-six mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Eddy’s M3 came from the factory with the SMG transmission.
He commissioned Lang Racing Development, Lake Forest, California to retrofit the SMG with the desirable BMW factory 6-speed manual transmission using BMW OEM parts. The clutch and water pump were also replaced as preventive maintenance.

Harjan the happy buyer of Eddy’s M3 is the next generation of BMW CCA car collector. He owns an E36 M3 and an E39 M5 and has been searching for the perfect E46 M3 to add to his young collection. “It had to be Alpine White” Harjan exclaimed, “Eddy’s M3 is exactly what I was looking for.” he continued, “I had a great buying experience on Collector Chassis and I am really excited to own this M3!” The best part for Eddy is that he not only has more garage space for his 2002tii but he will continue to see his loved M3 at the local Cars and Coffee. Harjan lives 20 minutes away.
