At a recent meetup of BMW CCA chapter leaders and volunteers in Tampa, Florida earlier this month, BMW CCA Executive Vice President Lou Ann Shirk proudly presented the BMW Clubs International Council’s “Club of the Year” award for 2022 to the BMW CCA Florida SunCoast Chapter.

Each year, the Council and the BMW Group recognize the outstanding dedication shown by the global BMW club community with the Council’s prestigious BMW Club Awards. Awards are given annually for Friend of the Marque, the Prof. Dr. Gerhard Knochlein BMW Classic Award, and the BMW Club of the Year.

BMW Clubs International Council’s “Club of the Year.”

“This International award from the Council for Club of the Year honors the outstanding performance of the Florida SunCoast Chapter, and recognizes the Chapter’s active growth, its social responsibility, and exceptional dedication,” Shirk says.

Lou Ann Shirk presents the well-deserved award to Florida SunCoast Chapter representatives.

BMW CCA is part of the Council—officially recognized by the BMW Group in Munich, Germany—with more than 230,000 BMW Club members belonging to nearly 800 recognized clubs in 54 countries.

“As a BMW CCA National Board Member, I am sincerely grateful for the Chapter’s passion and forward thinking through its area governorship program. And as a Florida SunCoast Chapter member, I am extremely proud of the dedication of this leadership group,” Shirk adds.

Cheers and congratulations from all around!

Receiving the Council’s Club of the Year award on behalf of Florida SunCoast, Chapter President Stan Dale says, “We are deeply honored to receive this BMW Club of the Year award from the BMW Clubs International Council.”

Chartered in 1976, the Florida SunCoast Chapter today reaches coast-to-coast across the sunshine state. Just about every week, twelve regional governors organize social meetups and events in metro areas. From Naples to Pensacola and Tampa to Jacksonville, the Chapter brings members together for sheer driving pleasure.

“On behalf of everyone at Florida SunCoast, our sincere appreciation to the Council for this very special recognition. It’s thanks to all the volunteers and members that make this Chapter really special,” says Dale.

And there was a lovely lineup of BMWs in the parking lot as well.

In North America, the BMW CCA is organized in five regions with 69 local chapters. In every region and every chapter, Club members celebrate cars, culture, and community through a shared passion for the marque. Congratulations to the Florida SunCoast Chapter! We celebrate this outstanding recognition with you. —Simone Harrison
