On the day before the Mid-Ohio WeatherTech Series race, the Turner team ran a pair of Grand Sport-class M4 GT4s in a two-hour Michelin Pilot Challenge race.
Robby Foley and Vin Barletta in the team’s #96 M4 GT4 finished fifth, while Bill Auberlen in the #95 car that he shared with Dillon Machavern was bunted off course and out of contention by another car. The overall and Grand Sport wins went to Kuno Wittmer and Chris Green in the #13 McLaren 570S GT4.
Auberlen and Machavern, who had led Grand Sport class points following a second-place finish at Daytona and a third at Sebring, fell to fourth in points after Mid-Ohio, while Foley and Barletta moved into second.
The Michelin Pilot Series returns to the track with a four-hour race at Watkins Glen on June 26.—Brian Morgan
