Privateer Robert Kubica in the #8 ART Grand Prix Team BMW M4 DTM finished third in the Sunday DTM race on the Zolder circuit in Belgium. On Saturday, Jonathan Aberdein in fourth was the best BMW finisher.

Kubica’s Sunday podium finish was his first in what has been a challenging season for the ART team. Three BMW factory racers scored points; Timo Glock finished fourth, Sheldon van der Linde was seventh, and Marco Wittmann was eighth.

On Saturday, when Aberdein finished fourth, Glock in ninth and Wittmann in tenth also scored points for BMW. The wins in both races went to Audi’s René Rast, who moved into a strong lead in drivers’ points going into the season finale at Hockenheim on November 6–8.

Kubica said, “This is a great moment for the entire ART Grand Prix Team after a difficult season. We had a lot to learn and needed to improve in many areas. Everything worked really well today. We managed to steer clear of all the problems and took our chances. We had really good pace in the decisive stages of the race. The tires were an important factor today, so I didn’t push too hard after my pit stop and tried to keep them alive. I was able to build up a lead over the cars behind me and get home in third place.”—Brian Morgan
