Congratulations to this week’s Garage Goals winner, Motor City Chapter member Maki Mitsuya! Mitsuya has won $25 gift cards from Shop BMW CCA and Griot’s Garage thanks to this picture of his E90 M3 and E90 325i!

“Ever since the new garage flooring was installed, I can confidently tell you that I spend more time in my garage,” said Mitsuya. “The RaceDeck flooring was an idea shared by one of my best friends who went through the same modification to his garage several years ago. When he initially showed me his new garage floor, my wife immediately fell in love with it. Needless to say, it was a very fast process resulting in my current garage scheme.”

When asked what got him to join the BMW CCA, Mitsuya said, “I have known about the BMW CCA since I was a little boy through my father, but did not fully understand what the organization was all about. However, I did remember the BMW CCA logo vividly. My true discovery of BMW CCA was at a Cars & Coffee event at BMW of Ann Arbor, Michigan in April 2018.”

Tell us more about your E90 M3 and E90 325i! “As I mentioned, my father was very influential in my love of BMWs. I basically learned how to drive in his E34 525i. I also learned to drive a manual transmission with this car. Perhaps I was spoiled, but BMW became the basis of my driving going forward. My 2006 E90 325i is my daily driver and it’s a six-speed manual with a sport package. Although it was a used car, it is my very first BMW. I definitely have a soft spot for this car. It’s equipped with winter, studless tires for the harsh, midwest winter. Since this car was originally driven in New York state in the early days, it came with a black license plate bracket with a BMW Logo on the front bumper. I swapped that out with a German Euro Plate simply for my visual pleasure.”

“My E90 M3 is Alpine White and is my very first M Car. I was originally looking for the E39 M5, but I fell in love with the E90s and could not resist obtaining the M3 with an S65 V8. This M3 was originally a California car, then spent the rest of its life in Arizona until I bought it. The car is completely rust-free, and I will continue to make sure of that. It has not been driven on snow or salted surfaces ever, with very minimal rain exposure due to poor weather forecasts. It has a Carbon Fiber aFe Stage II Cold Air Intake, Borla ATAK with resonator deleted, and nineteen-inch Rohana RFX11s. The original M wheels are now worn by my 325i. It also has a carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, and side skirts.”

As always, thank you, Maki, for your support of the club—and for your participation in our BMW CCA Garage Goals giveaway on Instagram.
