“I have been going on short pleasure drives in the cars, doing small detailing, working on my website about the cars, and supervising some of the final restoration work on the white 1980 M535i (luckily the shops doing the work stayed open),” says Adam. “I even had time to make my own YouTube video about the red car.”
Asked what got him to join the BMW CCA, Adam said, “I discovered the CCA through a friend in 1998 who had a (then new) E36 M3. I didn’t even have a BMW yet when I first joined. At that time I was fixated on the M Coupe, although, I still have yet to own one. My first BMW was a 1981 E12 528i which started me on the path of the older Bimmers.”
Tell us more about your fleet of BMWs! “My three BMW’s are a 1980 E12 M535i, one of perhaps 20 in the U.S., and its restoration was just completed. The yellow car is a 2012 M3 convertible in BMW Individual Speed Yellow, the only one in North America. The red car is a 1988 535is five-speed with full-euro bumper conversion and M30B35 engine transplant.”
