Congratulations to this week’s Shell Fill-Up Friday winner, LA Chapter member Hakeem Holloway (IG @bassibimmers), who won a $50 Shell fuel card thanks to this picture of his E39 M Tech Touring on the way to Bimmerfest!
“My Titanium Silver 2003 E39 M Tech 540i Touring is an accident-free original California car that I purchased in June 2017,” says Hakeem. “To my knowledge, only about 182 examples of this vehicle were made for the U.S. market, and not many more than that for the worldwide market. This car just hit 157,000 miles on the odometer on the way back home from Bimmerfest. This car is a true pleasure to own and drive, and I plan on keeping and maintaining it for many more years to come.
“Upon purchasing my E39 Touring, I found a BMW CCA brochure in the glove box,” says Hakeem, when asked how he originally discovered the BMW CCA. “I also noticed that many BMW enthusiasts on Instagram have the BMW CCA grille badge. This sparked my interest and led me to visit the BMW CCA tent at Bimmerfest 2019 to inquire about becoming a member myself.”
So, how was the trip to Bimmerfest? “Because of the holiday weekend, many, I assume, were on the highway driving in the same direction from Los Angeles on their way to Las Vegas,” says Hakeem. “This both unfortunately and understandably created a lot of traffic, but it also slowed everything down to the point that all of us Bimmer owners could admire each others’ cars in slow motion on the way to Bimmerfest 2019!”
