MS&AD Andretti Formula E racers António Félix da Costa and Stéphane Sarrazin finished fifteenth and twentieth in the Formula E race in Berlin on May 19. The overall win in the race, sponsored by BMW i, went to Daniel Abt, driving for Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler. His teammate, Lucas de Grassi, finished second, making it an Audi one-two.

Sarrazin, who is replacing Tom Blomqvist for the balance of the season, qualified sixteenth; Félix da Costa qualified seventeenth. Sarrazin’s time was just 0.695 seconds off the pace of Abt, who started from the pole. Sarrazin said, “I am happy to be back and driving in Formula E. I have done a lot of testing this year, but competing in a race again is something a bit different. The field was tightly packed in qualifying, and we weren’t far off the lead. Unfortunately, I had some problems with energy management during the race. I will have to work on that with the team before the next race in Zurich.”

The Zurich race will be run on June 10. The series will close its season with a pair of races in Brooklyn, New York on July 14–15.—Brian Morgan
