It’s a big week of announcements for the 2002, with the recent Petrolicious piece on Lisa “02 Princess” Hong and her beautiful 1973 car, plus the run-up to the BMW CCA Foundation’s exhibit, “ICON: 50 Years of the 2002”. But as another feature for the 50th anniversary of the legendary E10 chassis, the BMW CCA’s Oktoberfest will feature a schedule specifically for 2002 drivers.
From Monday, July 9 through Sunday, July 15, in addition to the regular host of exciting BMW CCA Oktoberfest events, there will be special programming for 2002 owners. The week includes driving tours, like Tuesday’s Covered Bridge Tour and a very special 2002-only drive to Fallingwater and optional Fallingwater house tour, as well as special Tech Talks at the Sheraton on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00-4:00pm with renowned figures in the 2002 community like Terry Sayther and Rob Siegel.
These events will culminate with the 2002 Corral on German Hill at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. The BMW assortment is always fantastic, but with such a big milestone, this is going to be a display for the ages.
Whether you’re bringing a 2002 or not, 2018 in Pittsburgh is going to be a year to remember! To register for O’Fest, and for information on events for BMWs of all types, visit ofest.bmwcca.org.
