The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IWSC) headed north of the border to Canada this past weekend for a race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), which featured the GTD Pro and GTD classes along with the LMP2 prototypes as the top class. The GTP cars did not compete in this race. Support races included the Michelin Pilot Challenge and VP SportsCar Challenge series.

Turner Motorsport had the best qualifying performance of the two M4 GT3 entries. Patrick Gallagher put the #96 Turner car (shown in top photo) in third in the GTD class with a 1:15.560 lap, with the pole going to the #12 Lexus with a 1:15.060. The top seven cars in GTD were within a second of each other. In GTD Pro, Madison Snow qualified the #1 Paul Miller Racing BMW in fifth with a 1:15.193, with the pole going to the #3 Corvette with a 1:14.373.

The #96 Turner Motorsport car stayed within the top group of cars in GTD and even led the class for 21 laps. Robby Foley took over the car from Gallagher in fourth place and moved up to third. He stayed in that position until a restart after a caution period, when the #70 McLaren got by for the final podium spot. The GTD class was won by the #27 Aston Martin. The Turner duo of Foley and Gallagher are in second place in the driver points, but the #57 Winward Racing Mercedes duo of Russell Ward and Philip Ellis have a commanding lead over them.

The Paul Miller Racing team finished eighth after a penalty ended their day.

The Paul Miller Racing team were running as high as second in GTD Pro early in the race but had their race end after contact with another car with two hours left in the race, which earned Bryan Sellers a penalty and ended any hopes they had of moving up through the GTD Pro field. They ultimately finished in eighth out of nine cars. The GTD Pro class was won by the #3 Corvette that started from pole and the #4 Corvette finished second.

The CarBAhn Motorsports M4 GT4 finished fourth in Michelin Challenge.

In the Michelin Pilot Challenge series, there were two BMWs in the top five, with the #39 CarBahn Motorsport M4 GT4 of Sean McAlister and Jeff Westphal finishing in fourth after qualifying eighth, and the #96 Turner Motorsport M4 GT4 of Francis Selldorff and Robby Foley finishing in fifth after qualifying sixth. The GS class was won by the #28 RS1 Porsche 718. In the VP Racing SportsCar Challenge, Patrick Wilmot of Split Decision Motorsports was the best of the BMWs, finishing in fifth in race one and on the podium in third in race two.
