The BMW Car Club of America today announced the postponement of this year’s MX1 Enthusiast Weekend, presented by Michelin, scheduled for August 14–15, 2020 in Greer, South Carolina. The BMW CCA is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our members, chapter leaders, board, staff, and guests, therefore, the event has been rescheduled for April 9–10, 2021.
If you are already registered for MX1, and don’t have a reservation at the Marriott, then you don’t need to do anything. You’re all set to attend MX1, as we’ll hold your spot and registration. If you can’t make it on April 9–10, you can cancel your registration for a full refund.
To modify or cancel your registration please follow the instructions in your registration confirmation email. You can also use the register now link on the MX1 website to make modifications. If you don’t have your confirmation number, you can request it on the website and it will be automatically sent to you.
If you have reservations in the BMW CCA room block at the Marriott, you will receive an email later this week about how to modify or cancel your reservation. The Marriott is going to honor the same rate in April and they are updating their system for rebooking this week.
The BMW CCA Foundation may still open the new Genesis Exhibit this year with limited capacity. If you are interested in learning more about this incredible exhibit, please visit bmwccafoundation.org.
We look forward to welcoming members back “home” to the brand-new event—MX1 Enthusiast Weekend, presented by Michelin—next Spring at the world center of all things BMW in upstate South Carolina. An awesome lineup of fun social and driving activities are scheduled at the BMW Performance Center, the BMW CCA Headquarters, and the BMW CCA Foundation Museum in Greer, South Carolina.
MX1 will celebrate everything BMW with a special highlight on M models and X vehicles with the 1 representing 1 community, 1 enthusiast club, and 1 weekend. MX1 will bring the entire BMW community together for a new tradition and provide something we can all look forward to. This will be perhaps the first large-scale BMW gathering post-COVID-19 restrictions.
Please make plans to join us for next year’s event for some much needed BMW fun! Further updates regarding MX1 will be made at mx1.bmwcca.org and BimmerLife.—Chris Hennecy
