“When I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, I realized my 74 tii needed more bodywork than I was able to do, and I had always wanted a roundie,” said Glenn. “I found this car in Reno. The car was in fantastic shape, very original, a factory LSD, and re-painted with its original Polaris Silver. I flew down with a friend and had a great drive back. My kids love being in the car—the visibility to the world around them in their car seats was so much better than any of our other cars. They still love taking the car for anything from weekend drives to grocery shopping,and I can’t wait to teach them how to drive in a few years. Sean Casey at Casey Motorsports in Petaluma keeps the car running fantastically well, and it puts a smile on my face every time I get behind the wheel.”
Asked how he discovered the BMW CCA, he said, “When I lived in LA, I used to source parts from the legendary 2002AD. The owner said the club was great, and totally worth joining. I wanted to learn more about my first 2002 and how to maintain and improve it. I really enjoyed meeting fellow enthusiasts, and after my first HPDE event at Laguna Seca, I was 110% sold on the club. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago!”
