BMW M2 drift

When I was a kid, I had no idea what Red Bull was. Before I knew it was an energy drink, I just thought it was a company that was out there to put it’s name on some of the coolest and riskiest stunts committed to film. And even if the drink isn’t something I enjoy, I love that spirit of adventure, of always pushing boundaries. And its involvement in motorsport is even better.

Red Bull sponsors cars in a variety of racing series, and the company is highly involved in drifting. The Driftbrothers are one pairing they back, with brothers Elias and Johannes Hountondji running modified BMWs as their cars of choice. While they’ve been running wildly modified M4s for a while, the pair are transitioning to the M2, which they showed off by drifting through BMW’s factory in Munich.

I can’t imagine the prep that went into this, because there is literally no room for error. The ground is slick with little grip. And really, how much can you practice in a car factory? Also, the car enters the factory missing a number of body panels, which are added throughout the video. That’s fun, but also seems to imply that the car is built in Germany. That means I’m sure many of you are watching the video and shouting “the M2 is built in Mexico!”

Elias drove for this one, and on a few occasions got a little too close to the wall. Seemed like a fun time. Check it out below:
