Virginia International Raceway (VIR) was the happy hunting ground for BMW M4 GT4 EVO entrants in the SRO GT4 America races this past weekend of July 19-20, 2025. BMW won every class in both races, with the Random Vandals Racing team having an especially strong weekend.
Race one of the GT4 America series on Saturday at VIR didn’t have much in the way of green flag running, but BMW teams made the most of the time they had. Lightning in the area led to a red flag stoppage of the race right after it started, and the race didn’t resume until there were less than ten minutes to go.
On the first lap after the restart, Kenton Koch made a pass for the lead and held it to the end to get the overall and Silver class win, driving the #97 Random Vandals Racing M4 GT4 EVO that he shares with Kevin Boehm (shown in top photo). “I mean, every time Kenton is behind the wheel, he makes our jaws drop,” said Boehm. “I think we sometimes do come to expect it, but it’s incredible to be teamed up with him and see him do what he does best. We didn’t have a lot of time to make anything of that race, and we did it.”

Sam Craven and Josh Green won the Pro-Am class in both races.
Random Vandals also won in the Pro-Am class in race one, with Josh Green and Sam Craven getting the win in the #94 M4 GT4 EVO, and they were followed on the podium in second by the #82 BimmerWorld Racing M4 GT4 EVO of Tyler McQuarrie and James Walker, Jr. BimmerWorld also won the Am class, with James Clay and Charlie Postins taking the win in the #36 BMW. The father-son duo of Joseph and Lucas Catania finished on the Am class podium in third in their Rigid Speed Company M4 GT4 EVO.
- Tyler McQuarrie and James Walker, Jr. finished on the Pro-Am class podium in both races.
- James Clay and Charlie Postins won the Am class in race one at VIR.
There was a lot more green flag racing in race two than in race one, but the results were nearly the same, with BMW drivers taking most of the podium spots in all three classes. Kenton Koch and Kevin Boehm took the win after Koch made a pass for the lead early in the race. Their teammates Josh Green and Sam Craven also had a great race, winning the Pro-Am class in the #94 BMW and finishing second overall behind Koch and Boehm. BimmerWorld drivers Tyler McQuarrie and James Walker, Jr. had another strong race as well, finishing third in the Pro-Am class.

Flying Lizard drivers Kris Wilson and Craig Lumsden won the Am class in race two.
BimmerWorld drivers James Clay and Charlie Postins looked set to take another win in the Am class as well, but a post-race time penalty issued to the BimmerWorld car dropped them to seventh and gave the win to the Flying Lizard Motorsport BMW M4 GT4 EVO of veteran Kris Wilson along with Craig Lumsden, with the #17 BMW of Joseph and Lucas Catania finishing on the podium for their second straight race with a third place finish.

Father-son duo Joseph and Lucas Catania finished third in the Am class in both races.
Next up for GT4 America is a pair of races at Road America in Wisconsin on August 15th-17th.
