The DTM series visited the twisty Zandvoort circuit in Holland on the weekend of June 6th-8th for rounds five and six of the 2025 championship, and BMW came away with their first win of the year in race two (DTM holds two races per weekend).

Neither of the two Schubert Motorsport M4 GT3 EVOs qualified well for race one, with René Rast starting way down in 18th and Marco Wittmann in 20th, though they were only a second off the pole time of Jordan Pepper’s Lamborghini. Wittmann moved up significantly in the race to finish in sixth, while Rast was involved in an accident in the changing weather conditions and had a DNF. The race one win went to Ayhancan Güven in a Porsche.

The BMWs performed significantly better in race two, which was in dry conditions. Rast redeemed himself after the accident in race one by qualifying on the pole, while Marco Wittmann started two cars behind him in third. Rast went on to take BMWs first win of the year in DTM, followed by Wittmann in second for a BMW one-two. “That was an intense race,” said Rast. “Particularly towards the end, when Wittmann was able to apply some pressure again. In the end, it was good enough for the win – thanks in part to two good pit stops.”

The pole position that Rast had for race two at Zandvoort gave him a record 26 poles in the DTM series, with many of them coming when he drove for Audi in previous years. Race two was also Marco Wittmann’s 200th DTM race (all with BMW), which puts him in a club with just seven other drivers who have reached that milestone.

FK Performance Motorsport finished one-two in the second ADAC GT Masters race.

BMW team FK Performance Motorsport also had a strong race in the ADAC GT Masters at Zandvoort, which was a support series for DTM. The team finished one-two in the second race, with Tim Zimmermann and Leyton Fourie getting the win ahead of teammates Julian Hanses and Eduardo Coseteng. In race one, Zimmermann and Fourie finished second, with Hanses and Coseteng in fourth. Schubert Motorsport BMW drivers Sandro and Juliano Holzem scored a third-place finish in race one in their M4 GT3 EVO.

The next two DTM races will be on the weekend of July 4th-6th at the Norisring in Germany.
