In a recent interview with Motor1.com, BMW Group Design Director Adrian Van Hooydonk talks about the magnitude of design changes about to launch with BMW’s Neue Klasse of vehicles. “I do think in all my years here at BMW, I’ve never seen a project with more momentum or more impact than this one,” Hooydonk told Motor1.

We’ve covered the slow reveal of the Neue Klasse designs here at BimmerLife, ranging from the prototypes to the not-officially-neue-klasse Skytop. The new designs appear cleaner, sleeker, and more cohesive than some of the large-grille models BMW enthusiasts have had mixed feelings about in recent years.
According to Hooydonk, “So the effort that we made, or let’s say the exercise that we went through was ‘How can we bring out the very essence of the BMW brand while using fewer elements, fewer lines, fewer details?’ And I think we will manage that.”
“This one will be a big step, and it’ll be such a big step that it almost looks like we jumped one generation. That’s how big the change is going to be,” Hooydonk told Motor1.
