This week, hundreds of MINIs and over a thousand MINI Cooper enthusiasts are participating in the nine-day event that started in Albuquerque, New Mexico and will end in Seattle, Washington. MINI Takes the States, which takes place every two years, started in 2006 and is sponsored by MINI USA, a subsidiary of BMW.

The theme for 2024 is “Camp Mini,” evoking the nostalgia and feel of a summer camp, with friendships, cookouts, and the occasional bonfire. This year’s charity partners are Keep America Beautiful and the American Camp Association.

According to the official website. “SUMMER CAMP IS HITTING THE ROAD. MINI is back in a big way this summer. It’s time to seek more from life and gather round the proverbial campfire with your fellow MINIacs! Big peaks, deep valleys, lush forests, and raging rivers-experience all of this and more on our Westward route.

The 9th MINI TAKES THE STATES will start Saturday, July 13th in Albuquerque, New Mexico and end Sunday, July 21st in Seattle, Washington. Pack up the MINI and get ready to reach new heights with this jaw-dropping route through the Western U.S. In the meantime, check out the daily drives below and don’t forget to book your hotel rooms.”

This event sees the first appearance of the new, official enthusiast club for MINI, the MINI Motoring Club of America. The new organization is currently forming and seeking MINI enthusiasts to join as early members while they work to develop exclusive benefits and experiences.
