We see you are a nurse in the Bay Area. First and foremost, thank you for everything you are doing to help patients, your community, and our country at this time. You guys deserve more praise than we can ever express!
Can you tell us a little bit about your experience during this time? “I am in charge of outpatient surgery and we are taking care of relatively healthy patients who still require surgeries in the midst of COVID-19,” said Bessie. “The hardest thing for us is to tell our patients that they cannot have their loved ones come into the center and wait with them before and after surgery. Our visitor policy restricts all visitors from entering our center; therefore, patient’s loved ones have to wait at home or in the car while we take care of the patient.”
“With the PPE shortage, I, unfortunately, have to lock up all N95 masks in my office,” continued Bessie. “All clinicians and staff have to sign out for masks with me on a daily basis. It is unheard of that we have to reuse masks. But following CDC guidelines, we are teaching and training everyone how to properly put on and take off masks safely for reuse.”
When asked what advice she’d give her fellow members, she said, “Practice social distance and shelter in place. Many people are asymptomatic for days and unknowingly spread the virus.”
Tell us more about the M2 and M3 CS pictured! “M2, aka Queen B, is my first BMW. We ordered the car from BMW Fairfax in 2016 and waited for nearly a year for performance delivery at Spartanburg. We had an amazing experience at the Performance Center, and right after we were handed the keys, we took Queen B straight back to Arlington, Va. I have always wanted a coupe and I love the car and how it handles on and off track. I have taken Queen B to Car Control Clinics, Autocross, and participated in driving schools at Buttonwillow, Thunderhill, and Laguna Seca. The M2 is an awesome stock car and I have only changed a few things for personalization (M performance exhaust, kidney grille, carbon mirror caps, blue start button, painted reflector).”
“Our M3 CS, aka Sabine, was a replacement for another F80 after our original was t-boned twice and totaled after the second collision. One of our Instagram friends from Washington hooked us up with the GM from BMW Seattle for an amazing deal on the M3 CS. We flew up to Seattle to see the car and sign paperwork, and we flew back home on the same day. We opted to ship the car back to California because we didn’t want to drive the car before it was wrapped with protection.”
