Congratulations to Sacramento Chapter member Austin Caccavo, our latest Shell Fill-Up Friday winner! Austin’s “Summer Nights” post featuring his beautiful E28 M5 has landed him a spot in the winner’s circle—and a $25 Shell gift card!
Asked how he originally discovered the club, he says, “Mostly from my father. He encouraged me to join for the Monterey show benefits and events. My father was a ten-year member in the early 2000s when he purchased the M5, which I purchased from him.”
Joining the club was an easy decision for Austin. “I have met some great people over the years, many of whom ended up being CCA members, so last year I figured it was time to join the club! There are some fantastic event access benefits—Monterey is a must-attend event for me—and being a BMW CCA member allows me easy entry and trackside goodies to enjoy,” he says.
And taking care of his M5 is why he uses Shell. “The M5 has a high compression 3.6 stroker, so I can’t justify putting in gas that isn’t true to its rating,” says Austin. His E28 M5 has an S38B36 crank with an 86-mm stroke, forged 10.5:1 pistons in 94-mm bores, slotted cam sprockets, M88 headers, and a lot more. That’s a pretty awesome ride!
