The SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization) sanctions racing series around the world, including the SRO GT World Challenge, GT4 America and TC America series here in the US, along with other regional series in Europe, Asia and Australia.
In 2024, the SRO tallied the points scored in the various classes for a worldwide manufacturer championship. BMW clinched the GT4 manufacturer title in the season finale of the GT4 Europe championship at the end of November, which was held at the Jeddah circuit in Saudi Arabia. The points that went toward the GT4 championship were scored in 95 races held across 50 race events and in eight different series.
Going into the GT4 Europe finale at Jeddah, BMW held an 824-point lead in the overall championship over closest rival Porsche. BMW cemented their points lead and the championship in the final races with a pair of second-place finishes in the Am class for the CHAZEL Technologies Course team (shown in top photo) and a fifth-place finish in the Silver class in race one for the L’Espace Bienvenue team.
BMW ended up with a total of 25,581 points to win the championship, followed by Porsche in second and Aston Martin in third. The success of US teams racing the M4 GT4 in the SRO GT4 America series also provided a big boost to BMW’s global point standing. SRO GT4 America BMW teams accounted for 6,806 of the 25,581 points that BMW scored worldwide throughout the year (26.6%).
The G82 generation M4 GT4 has had great success around the world in its second season, with BMW customer teams competing with the M4 GT4 in 770 races around the world, winning 164 of them.
