Sim Racing With National Capital Chapter BMW CCA

National Capital Chapter’s Scott Kim, chair of the chapter’s Sim Racing program, reached out to BimmerLife with news to share about this club-wide program.

Kim says, “Our summer season wrapped up successfully in August. We drove all GT4 cars for the first time in our league history and numerous members opted to drive non-BMWs. The races featured double headers on Thursday with a new format–-a reversed grid based on qualifying positions. This new format was overwhelmingly positive and we will continue to incorporate it moving forward.

On September 8th, we are starting our fall season, which will feature ten races. This time we’re back in our flagship sim-racing car, the M8 GTE. We will visit IMSA’s favorite tracks with a few fan-favorite tracks in Europe—Le Mans and Spa—and finish the season with a full-course Nürburgring race! We are switching things up a bit and will feature a 40-minute race with a mandatory pit stop. To make it even more interesting we are continuing our reverse grid tradition, which keeps formation longer and makes the racing more intense!

Races will be broadcasted by VSPEED on Thursday nights. Tune in at 8:15 p.m. EST for exciting and competitive races driven by fellow BMW CCA enthusiasts. We are accepting new drivers from ALL chapters, so please visit our webpage for more information and requirements.
