The Century Motorsport team finished up a great season in the British GT championship, winning the GT4 Silver class championship with a BMW M4 GT4 driven by Gus Burton and Will Burns. It didn’t even take them until the last race to win it; they clinched the drivers’ and team championships in the penultimate rounds at Oulton Park. Century became the first team since 2015 to be crowned champions before the final round of the season.

With the title already decided, the pair still finished strong in adverse conditions at Donington Park, with a podium finish to cap off the season. “I’d like to thank Century Motorsport for providing Will and myself with an outstanding and faultless car throughout the year, giving us the strongest foundation to win a championship,” said Gus Burton after clinching the championships. “My co-driver Will Burns and I have formed a very strong relationship over the last two years and I knew from the start of the season we would be one of, if not the strongest pairings on the grid. It’s been a phenomenal year.”

Century Motorsport will continue to partner with BMW Motorsport in 2022 with three cars entered once again in the British GT championship. In addition to the pair of M4 GT4s, the team have also secured an M4 GT3 for 2022 and may be adding a second M4 GT3 before the end of the year. They will be the only British team to race an M4 GT3 in 2022, with drivers still to be decided. It’s interesting to see what Century has done with the livery on their new M4 GT3, as they’ve broadened the black area around the grill, which looks pretty good.

“We’ve enjoyed an incredible season in GT4, which has helped us secure the new M4 and BMW’s backing for next year,” said team owner Nathan Freke. “We’re already talking to a few drivers about the first car, which we’ll get our hands on in the new year but are keen to hear from anyone interested in joining a program. Securing an M4 GT3 for next season is very difficult even with official ties, as we have, and impossible without them given the global demand. So this represents the only realistic opportunity for someone to race the car in Britain next year.”
